Recapping a Stellar Month of May for Crowdbotics

Fresh off our April announcement of a new strategic collaboration with Microsoft, the company has enjoyed one of its most successful months ever.

It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Crowdbotics team.

Fresh off our April announcement of a new strategic collaboration with Microsoft, the company has enjoyed one of its most successful months ever, including media coverage in multiple publications, a key industry award win, attendance at the Gartner Application Innovation & Business Solutions Summit and Microsoft Build, new customer case studies, and enhancements to our CodeOps platform. Here are some of the highlights:

Media Coverage

Company CEO Anand Kulkarni provided commentary for a Barron’s article titled “ChatGPT Has Competition. How Google’s Gemini Compares.”  In the article, Anand said, “As the hype around AI-powered tools continues to explode, it’s important to remember that the entire category is still in its infancy.” He also added that “AI today comes with a non-trivial amount of risk.”

Anand was also interviewed by Airforce Technology, a top news site for the military aerospace industry. The story explored how Crowdbotics’ CodeOps approach differs from other methods and how the armed services are using it to quickly address defense requirements for IT with built-in security features. “Our AI tool in our software product lets you automate the process of writing your requirements and then stapling together the parts that you need to build that software product,” Anand explained in the article.

In addition, CTO Charath Ranganathan authored an article for Built In titled “Why Your Company Should Be Using CodeOps.” The piece gives readers a crash course on the benefits of CodeOps, which utilizes reusable, internally-owned code to streamline the development process.

SIIA CODiE Award

On the awards front, the Crowdbotics platform was named the Best Platform as a Service for 2024 in the annual Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) CODiE Awards. SIIA, the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, honored organizations for products and services following rigorous reviews by expert judges whose evaluations determined the finalists. SIIA members then voted on the finalist products, and the scores from both rounds were tabulated to select the winners.

Gartner Application Innovation & Business Solutions Summit and Microsoft Build

In mid-May, Crowdbotics attended the Gartner Application & Innovation Business Summit in Las Vegas, an event “designed specifically to equip enterprise application and software engineering leaders and their teams with the objective insights, expert guidance, practical tools and must-see frameworks that they need to achieve their mission-critical priorities.” While at the event, company representatives educated attendees on how Crowdbotics’ technology enables organizations to put their “innovation on repeat” thanks to CodeOps. In addition, Anand demoed the Crowdbotics platform and turned healthy skepticism into excitement. Watch the full 20-minute presentation here.

Crowdbotics also had a sizable presence at Microsoft Build, an annual conference bringing together software engineers, developers and IT professionals to learn about the latest innovations in code and applications. One of the overarching themes of the event was how advances in AI are having a profound impact on Microsoft, which includes the aforementioned collaboration with Crowdbotics.

Customer Case Study: Drone Express

Crowdbotics recently produced a case study with customer Drone Express, one of five companies in the U.S. (including Amazon and Google) on track to receive Federal Aviation Administration authorization to deliver goods via drones. “When you build an application, there are so many facets that can require full-stack developers and architects working on the front-end and back-end UI and UX,” said Brandon Mabey, chief strategy officer at Drone Express. “But Crowdbotics is a one-stop-shop because of its ecosystem. Reusable code helped us launch an application fairly quickly and not have to build from scratch.” Read this and other customer case studies on the Crowdbotics Customer Stories page.

New Product Enhancements

Finally, in May, Crowdbotics made two key enhancements to its CodeOps platform. First, the company achieved SOC2 Type II certification. This internationally recognized standard verifies the effectiveness of a company’s security protocols and controls, specifically how cloud-based service providers handle sensitive information.

The platform also received added language support in May. It originally supported building front-end apps using JavaScript and the React Native framework and back-end apps using Python and the Django framework. Now, customers can use the language and framework of their choice, including C#, .Net Core, and Node.js. Whatever language and framework an organization requires, the Crowdbotics platform helps accelerate productivity.

Needless to say, May was a busy but ultra-fulfilling month. We’re excited to carry this momentum into the second half of 2024 and beyond!
